<p dir="ltr">Speaking at the scholarship award ceremony held in Kano, Jibrin highlighted the need for exposure to international educational standards, with students set to pursue advanced degrees in countries such as India, Canada, and the United States. &#8220;These seventy students are highly qualified, and while we would have liked to sponsor more, this is only the beginning,&#8221; he said, assuring that the scholarship program would continue in the future.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Jibrin encouraged the students to make the best use of the opportunity and to be good ambassadors of Nigeria. &#8220;If you find good work opportunities overseas, stay and work there, but always create job opportunities back home. This will help us develop our country,&#8221; he advised. He also expressed his appreciation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s establishment of the North West Development Commission, acknowledging the President&#8217;s commitment to the people of Kano and the Northwest region.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Prof. Muhammad Bin Abdullahi, Chief of Staff to the Deputy Senate President, underscored the scope of the scholarships, noting that the program would cover various fields, including artificial intelligence, robotics, and cyber forensics. &#8220;These scholarships are fully funded, with students receiving education in some of the top institutions worldwide,&#8221; he said, adding that 600 students had already been sponsored at Dutsinma, with the current 70 recipients being part of the international cohort.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Former Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK), Prof. Yahuza Bello, lauded Barau for laying a solid foundation for a knowledge-based economy, particularly in fields like ICT, robotics, and cyber security. &#8220;You must pay attention to your studies and uplift your community and humanity as a whole. After graduation, each of you should train at least one other person,&#8221; Bello urged the students, reinforcing the importance of giving back to society.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The scholarship initiative is expected to bolster Nigeria&#8217;s capabilities in emerging fields while providing the students with global exposure and expertise to help drive development back home.</p>
