16 people from Madobi perished in River Challawa

Kano State Government has been call upon to provide alternative ways of protecting the re-occurence of mishap of canoe in River Challawa in Madobi local government area that claims 16 lives.

The member representing Madobi Constituency in the State House of Assembly Hon Sulaiman Muktar Ishaq made the called while presenting a motion of urgent importance matters before the parliament members.

He described the incident as disaster that the people of the Kauran mata  and Gajali ward have been suffering from crossing the river especially during the rainy season, therefore called on the state Assembly to urgently draw government attention to come to the aid of the families of the victims calamity.

The member further explained that the communities have been using the River as easy means of transporting their goods and services from Kaura mata and Gajali ward in Madobi to Kura local government areas.
He therefore called on the state governor Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf to urgent look for means of providing easy transportation of the communities to enable them continued their economic activities within the area.

In a separate development the member representing Wudil constituency Hon Ali Abdullahi Manager has requested for the  house to plea the state government to construct additional female hostels at Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology Wudil.
Presenting the motion before the House and seconded by member representing Doguwa Hon Salisu Ibrahim Ririwai explained that the provision of the additional hostel will assist to tackles the problems insecurity as well as encourage female education in the state and northern part of Nigeria.
He therefore called on the state government to construct the additional project at the university and citing the recent incident of the died of a female student at the out campus of the university, which generated the conflicts within the communities.
