The Kano State Government has made significant investments in the professional development of its State Legal Counsels by sponsoring 115 Counsels to attend the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual Conference, further demonstrating its dedication to their growth.

The Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Haruna Isa Dederi, disclosed this while addressing pressmen at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.

Barrister Dederi stated that the administration of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, focused on building a robust legal system, aims to position Kano State as a leader in legal services, driving excellence and innovation in the justice sector.

The Commissioner highlighted that the state government has graciously provided state counsels with Robe and medical fitness allowances, renewed their licenses, supported their attendance at the annual conference, and procured laptops to enhance their well-being and productivity.

Dederi emphasized that the prestigious Nigerian Bar Association Annual Conference is a gathering designed to promote legal excellence, facilitate networking, and address pressing legal and social issues affecting Nigeria and Nigerians.

He added that the conference seeks to enhance continuing legal education, foster dialogue between the bar, bench, and stakeholders, and showcase developments in legal practice. It also aims to encourage mentorship, celebrate outstanding contributions, and provide a platform for discussions on justice, human rights, and the rule of law.
