The Amalgamation of Kano Youth Groups has called on government appointees to engage with their constituents and demonstrate solidarity during the ongoing protests across Nigeria. The group emphasized the importance of leadership visibility in calming tensions and countering the destructive actions of miscreants exploiting the situation.

The youth coalition expressed concern over the absence of appointees appointed by the President during this critical time, questioning their lack of engagement with the public. “We are shocked that at this time of dire need for engagement, we cannot find people who are supposed to be our representatives in government,” the group stated.

The group urged appointees to actively participate and communicate with citizens, particularly in states where the APC is not in power. They emphasized the necessity for federal appointees to act as liaisons, addressing the needs of the people and implementing government programs effectively.

Musaddiq Wada Waziri, the convener of the group, and Jamilu Haruna Gurgu, the co-convener, appealed to appointees to break their silence and show respect for citizens by providing assurances and demonstrating support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government. “We must see the solidarity and belief of public office holders with as much intensity as we did during the campaigns,” they declared, stressing the urgency for appointees to be proactive and responsive during this challenging period.
