The Kano Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA) has inaugurated a Public Complaint Committee aimed at addressing grievances related to staff misconduct, particularly regarding the collection of money for approvals and the issuance of unauthorized approvals.

The Managing Director of KNUPDA, Architect Ibrahim Yakubu, made this announcement during a press conference held in Kano.

He emphasized the importance of establishing this committee in response to numerous complaints from the public about staff members demanding money to facilitate approvals or to ease the approval process.

“We have received disturbing reports of our staff collecting money from individuals seeking approvals, and in some cases, issuing unauthorized or ‘black market’ approvals,” said Yakubu.

“This committee has been established to investigate these serious allegations thoroughly.”
