Economic Hardship: Only 5,000 Out of Over 30,000 Students Registered at Nigerian University

As economic hardship continues to worsen for the average Nigerian, NIGERIAN TRACKER exclusively gathered that at Bayero University Kano, only five thousand returning and new students have registered out of over thirty thousand.

NIGERIAN TRACKER learned that the university is expected to close registration on the 21st of July to immediately start the new academic session.

Bayero University’s registration fees range from 94 thousand to about 170 thousand naira, depending on the course of study.

Even during the last academic session, the Kano state government under Abba Kabir Yusuf paid for Kano indigenes studying at the university, who constitute the majority.

But head of class representatives forum led by Ali Redah have wrote to the university seeking for extension of the registration or the university allow them to embark on part payment .
