Despite his deposition by the Kano State Government on May 23, the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has directed district heads to attend the Eid-ul-Kabir Durbar in Kano, scheduled for June 16.

In a letter signed by the Palace’s Senior Counselor and Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Abbas Sunusi, it was stated that the district heads should prepare and attend a meeting at the Nassarawa Palace of the Emir of Kano to prepare and formalize the Durbar, which will be presided over by the 15th Emir.

Since his deposition by the Kano State Government following the repeal of the 2019 Emirate Law, the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has been holding court at the Nassarawa Palace amidst heavy security presence. Meanwhile, the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, is holding court at the ancient Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudi, known as Gidan Rumfa.
