KANO, Nigeria  – The Kano council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has extended warm congratulations to Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

In a statement released by Comrade Abbas Ibrahim, Chairman of NUJ Kano, and Comrade Abba Murtala, Secretary, the council expressed hope that Muslims would uphold the lessons of the holy month, which include sacrifice, tolerance, and love.

As the value of the Naira continues to appreciate, the council anticipates a reduction in the prices of goods. Additionally, measures should be implemented to curb artificial scarcity of essential commodities.

The proactive efforts of the Kano Police Command and sister security agencies in uncovering plots to disrupt Eid celebrations were highly commended. Parents were urged to remain vigilant and guard their wards against negative influences.

Journalists were reminded to strictly adhere to media ethics, ensuring accurate and responsible reporting. Media organizations were called upon to prioritize the welfare and entitlements of practitioners to enhance productivity.

NUJ Kano extended heartfelt wishes to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the five Kano Emirates, and the entire Muslim community for a joyous Sallah period
