KANO, March 29, 2024 – Following a recent security breach in Dorayi Quarters and its environs, where miscreants and thugs attacked residents, resulting in loss of innocent lives and property, the Kano State Police Command has been lauded for its rapid response to contain the situation.

In a press release issued today, Right Rev. Dr. John Namaza Niyiring, Co-Chair, and Amb. Ibrahim Waiya, Convener/Head of Secretariat of Kano peace committee commended the prompt action of the Kano State Police Command, led by CP Muhammad Hussaini Gumel, in addressing the incident. The Command’s consideration to establish an Anti-Daba Divisional Police Office in the area as a preventive measure has also been acknowledged.

The statement further expressed appreciation for the arrest of suspects linked to the attack and called for a thorough investigation to apprehend all involved individuals and their sponsors. This, it emphasized, would serve as a deterrent to others contemplating such violent acts.

While praying for the souls of the departed and the speedy recovery of the injured, the release urged the Kano State Government to cover the medical expenses of survivors. Additionally, citizens were encouraged to support security agencies by providing information to combat political thuggery and hooliganism in the state.

The authors Waiya and John Namaza of Kano peace committee also extended Easter wishes to Christians and urged prayers for the nation’s security, prosperity, and development.
