The Association of Masu Karatun Allo Na Tsanganya Nigeria wishes to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of new leadership for the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education.

The President appointed Brigadier General Lawal Ja’afar Isa (Rtd) as the Chairman of the Board of the Commission, while Dr. Idris Muhammad Sani is to serve as the Executive Secretary/CEO.

Alaramma Abubakar Abdullahi, the national chairman of the association, stated this on behalf of the association.

The development is a clear demonstration of President Tinubu’s disposition to reinvigorate the teaching of the Holy Qur’an and address the myriad of problems bedeviling the Tsangaya schools, as well as improving the well-being of Almajiri.

Lawal Jafaru Isa is an astute educationist and administrator with a proven track record in his career, as well as his role as the military administrator of Kaduna State.

His appointment could be ascribed as the “best decision” taken by President Tinubu to holistically bring sustainable development in Qur’anic teaching and learning, welfare of Alarammomi (teachers), and ensure access to quality education for Almajiri and out-of-school children.

While congratulating the new leadership, I urge them to adopt an open-door policy and engage Tsangaya organizations to fast-track the successful implementation of the program to facilitate sustainable development in the sector.
