The Kano state Government has been urged to consider reinstating the 14th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, to enhance business in Kano.

The President Market Traders Association of Nigeria , Jamilu Abbas, stated this in a release issued to newsmen in Kano.

Jamilu Abbas said that with the 14th Emir’s versatile experience in issues that border on the economy and his worldwide connections, his return to the Kano Emirates as the Emir of the United Kano Emirates will restore the dwindling fortunes of Kano and enhance cooperative groups.

The President mentioned that during Sanusi’s last reign as Emir of Kano between 2014 and 2020, Kano’s business significantly improved due to the Emir’s knowledge and experience in handling economic matters, during which he invited investors to invest in Kano, especially in solar energy.

According to the President of the Market Traders Association, Emir Muhammad Sanusi II was instrumental in easing business transactions among the populace, especially e-transactions, and that experience is needed to continue to be tapped if he is restored as Emir.

Jamilu Abbas added that the issue of cashless transactions was Sanusi’s effort, and by the time he returns to Gidan Dabo as Emir, the Kano business community and Nigerians will continue to have a clearer understanding of how to improve their businesses.
