The National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, has appealed to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State to dump the ruling New Nigeria Peoples’ Party, (NNPP), and join the opposition party.

The APC National Chairman is in Kano to meet with stakeholders of the party and discuss possible reconciliation with the NNPP.

Speaking at the stakeholders meeting on Thursday, Mr Ganduje, who is a former governor of the state, said Governor Yusuf’s joining of the APC will make Kano a ‘one-party state’.

Dr Ganduje noted that the APC is in Kano to woo other ‘smaller parties’ into the party for the development of the state.

The APC National Chairman assured that the party would provide enabling environment for Mr Yusuf and his supporters to enjoy peace and harmony.

This is coming more than a week since the Supreme Court declares Governor Yusuf winner of the March 18 governorship election signifying defeat for Nasiru Gawuna of the APC.

Very soon some governors will join our party. So, if we can do this at national level, why can’t we do it at state level?

“Our hands are wide open. We are appealing to those who like to join our party. In particular, we are inviting the governor of Kano state to dump his party, NNPP, and join APC.

“We are calling him. We promise to create enabling environment for the governor of Kano State so that we make a solid, a very big followership.

“This is a reflection of our population since we are the most populous state in the federation,” Mr Ganduje said.

The meeting held in the presence of the Minister for State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Gwarzo, the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, Member of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Doguwa, Deputy Governorship Candidate of the APC, Murtala Garo among other key stakeholders of the party in the state.
