The Arewa Oil and Gas Marketers Association of Nigeria (AROGMA) has affirmed the position of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) that there is no plan to increase fuel prices across the country.
Bashir Ahmad Danmalam, the President of AROGMA, stated this in a press release issued to newsmen.
Danmalam mentioned that this affirmation is an outcome of their meeting with NNPC management, led by its Managing Director, trading Lawal Sade.
The AROGMA President highlighted that NNPC management assured them of an increase in the supply of petroleum products, especially with children returning to school amid the high demand.
He said that due to the excessive use of fuel during the Yuletide, the NNPC management has promised to increase 5 cargoes for the oil marketers for optimum distribution around Nigeria.
He urged people to exercise patience during the harmattan season, as the products are also sought after in Europe.
As we approach the end and beginning of the new year, a large volume of fuel has been exhausted.
AROGMA cautions against spreading fake news on social media regarding fuel price increments.
Danmalam emphasized that only news from them or the NNPC is authentic. Despite high demand globally, NNPC management ensures timely delivery to consumers.
One of the challenges faced is the ongoing conflict in Asia and Yemen, causing delays in the transportation of petroleum products. Danmalam urged people to be patient.
Danmalam commended the NNPC management for their proactive measures.
