Birnin Kudu Old Boys Set to Benefit From Jigawa State’s 32 Percent 2024 Budgetary Allocation

In a significant announcement during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Birnin Kudu Old Boys Association (BIKOBA), Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State disclosed that the forthcoming 2024 state budget includes a notable allocation of 32 percent directed towards the development and support of projects benefiting the Birnin Kudu Old Boys community.

The governor made this revelation at the AGM, held at the Murtala Mummad Library complex in Kano, emphasizing the commitment of the state government to fostering the growth and welfare of its citizens, including the esteemed members of BIKOBA.

Representing Governor Umar Namadi at the event, Bala Ibrahim, the Jigawa State Secretary to the State Government, further elaborated on the strategic initiatives and projects earmarked for the Birnin Kudu Old Boys community. He underscored the government’s dedication to uplifting various sectors, promoting education, and enhancing the overall well-being of the Birnin Kudu alumni.

The AGM also featured a distinguished guest speaker, Professor Sabo Ibrahim from the Federal University of Technology, Babura. Professor Ibrahim delivered a comprehensive address on Career Guidance, highlighting the importance of helping individuals align their skills, interests, and strengths with suitable career paths. He emphasized the role of career counselors in providing information about occupations, educational opportunities, and valuable work experiences.

Addressing the gathering, Professor Sabo Ibrahim stated, “Career guidance ensures well-considered decisions about students’ futures. It defines the best career path for each student, preventing wasted time in higher education pursuing irrelevant subjects. Professional support in career counseling assists in analyzing strengths and weaknesses, preparing students for the future, and fostering confidence in decision-making.”

The AGM, held on December 31, 2023, at the Murtala Mummad Library complex in Kano, provided a platform for Birnin Kudu Old Boys to gain insights into the state’s commitment to their community’s development and to engage with valuable discussions on career guidance facilitated by an esteemed speaker.
