Professor Salisu Ibrahim is a professor of Veterinary Medicine with vast experiences in areas of Large Animal Infectious diseases in the course of 28yrs, out of which 15yrs of University teaching and research, 8yrs of working with Research Institute and 10years working with Ministry of Agriculture as a field Specialist.
Prof.Salisu was born on 26th February, 1967 and hails from Hadejia, Jigawa State.
He attended, Abdulkadir Primary School, 1974, then Sambo Primary School, 1979 and Government Day Secondary School, Hadejia from 1980 – 82 and proceeded to Science Secondary School, Dawakin Kudi, 1985, before proceeding to School of Basic Studies, ABU Zaria, 1987, later obtained admission into the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, ABU, Zaria, where he obtained Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), MSc and PhD degrees in 1995, 2007 and 2016 respectively. He attended a course in Bovine and Human tuberculosis Molecular Diagnostics at Hospital Kan Ruti in Spain in 2012 among others.
Prof.Salisu has held various administrative responsibilities including Acting Head of Department, Coordinator of various courses at both undergraduates, postgraduates levels and member of various Departmental committees.
His research interests is in the area of Veterinary Medicine as well as Bovine and Human tuberculosis epidemiology where he has over 45 publications in both local, international journals and attended several conferences in and outside Nigeria. He is a Veterinary Consultant to many Cattle farms in Nigeria, Fellow, College of Veterinary Surgeons Nigeria, registered with Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association. His hobbies include Cattle rearing and watching soccer.
