In a recent development at Federal High Court No. 2 in Gyadi Gyadi Kano, lawyer Yahaya Isa Abdul from Dikko and Mahmud Chambers has been cautioned by the court to produce the individual he is representing on December 6, 2023.

The case involves an accusation by IGP Kayode Egbetuku, who has filed a lawsuit against a Lebanese individual named Maged Ali Taan and a Nigerian named Mustafa Tiamiyu. They are accused of deliberately setting fire to a building located at 5c Murtala Muhammad Way Kano since 2021, allegedly attempting to claim a substantial insurance payout.

While under police custody, the accused were granted bail through their legal representative. However, during today’s court session, the accused were notably absent. When questioned, their lawyer stated that his client was unwell and later mentioned that the client was reluctant to appear before the court.

The court, emphasizing the legal expertise of the accused’s lawyer, underscored the importance of bringing the accused to the court on December 6, 2023.

Efforts to reach lawyer Yahaya Isa for comment proved unsuccessful after the court proceedings. The police lawyer, Abdulsalami Dammaidaki, was also unavailable for comment.
