Kano, Nigeria – In a recent visit to the Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, Kano State’s Special Adviser to the Governor on Higher Education, Professor Auwalu Haliru Arzai, emphasized the importance of instilling moral discipline, self-reliance, and patriotism within higher education institutions.

During his visit to the college, Professor Arzai commended the institution for its track record of producing morally upright and academically sound students. He urged higher institutions to ensure they provide students with a strong foundation in moral values and a sense of patriotism, guiding them as they enter the workforce.

Furthermore, Professor Arzai encouraged the Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies to explore alternative revenue-generating avenues. He assured the institution of the Kano State government’s commitment to transforming the education sector and supporting their initiatives.

In response, the college’s Provost, Professor Balarabe Jakada, requested assistance from the government to expedite the completion of ongoing projects, including the renovation of the college’s theater, which was previously damaged by fire.

Additionally, the Provost revealed plans to upgrade the college to the “College of Education and Legal Studies.” This transition would allow the institution to affiliate with Bayero University and Federal University Dutsinma for degree programs.

The Special Adviser’s visit included interactions with college management, various staff unions, and the Students Union Government, providing an opportunity for constructive dialogue and collaboration.

The Kano State government remains dedicated to enhancing higher education and ensuring that its institutions prepare students for successful and meaningful futures.
