<p>In a significant development, President Bola Tinubu has exercised the Principle of the Presidential Prerogative of Mercy to grant a partial waiver of the &#8220;No Work, No Pay&#8221; Order imposed on members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). <p>The decision to grant this waiver stems from President Tinubu&#8217;s commitment to alleviate the challenges faced during the implementation of crucial economic reforms in Nigeria. It also reflects the recognition of the faithful execution of agreements reached during productive negotiations between ASUU and the Federal Government.</p>

<p>This exceptional waiver will enable previously striking ASUU members to receive four months&#8217; worth of salary accruals out of the eight months withheld during the industrial action.</p>
<p>However, the President has stipulated that the Federal Ministry of Education and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment must establish a Document of Understanding (DoU).
