Hajara Umar Sanda Emerges as BUK’s First Female Professor of Mass Communications

Bayero University Kano, one of the leading universities in Africa, has approved the promotion of Hajara Umar Sanda to the position of Professor of Mass Communications.

With this achievement, she becomes the first female Professor of Mass Communication at Bayero University.

For the past two decades, she has been teaching in the Faculty of Communication at Bayero University Kano, producing veteran broadcasters and journalists across the country, including the publisher of NIGERIAN TRACKER, one of Nigeria’s leading online newspapers.

She has authored several publications to her credit. Professor Hajara Umar Sanda is known for her dedication and her passion for teaching, providing utmost care to her students.

The Department of Mass Communications, where she teaches, is one of the oldest Mass Communications departments in Nigeria, following the University of Nigeria in Nsukka and the University of Ibadan.

Professor Sanda is married and has children.
