Emir of Kano Upgraded to Full Member of National Institute of Public Relations

The National Institute of Public Relations has upgraded the status of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, from association member to full member of the Institute.

The National President of the Institute, Muktar Zubairu Suraj, stated this when the members of the institute visited him at his palace.

According to the president, the institute, which was established in 1962, was mandated by the law through the national assembly.

He added that the emir was awarded with prestige following his contributions to the institute and his status as a bonafide member of journalism and a product of Bayero University.

The president said the association is significantly important in promoting knowledge to society.

Earlier, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero CFR, thanked the institute for the prestigious award and assured the institute of his support for any move that would develop the activities of the institute, especially in the area of promoting unity and understanding for national development.

The Emir said he participated fully in the assignments of the institute, citing an example during his tour to various states where he highlighted to leaders the importance of unity among different ethnicities for the development of the nation.

Meanwhile, the emir has turbaned Abubakar Musa as the new village head of Shekar Barde in Kumbotso Local Government Area.

The Emir charged him to live peacefully with his subjects and contribute his best to the development of education, both Islamic and Western education.
