Barring any last-minute changes, the former Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has reportedly submitted the name of his former Deputy and the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for the 2023 Governorship election, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, for a ministerial appointment.

A source close to both individuals confided in NIGERIAN TRACKER about this development.

Some newspapers previously reported about Ganduje’s name being dropped for a ministerial appointment. However, it was revealed that President Bola Tinubu requested him to nominate suitable candidates from Kano.

This development puts to rest speculations about the non-inclusion of Alhaji Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna among the ministerial list, which is expected to emanate soon at the National Assembly.

The source stated that if Alhaji Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna successfully navigates the hurdles of the ministerial screening and receives the appointment, the President may assign him as the senior Minister in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.

The source also informed this newspaper that Former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who is being tipped to replace Abdullahi Adamu as the National Chairman of the APC, has also submitted the names of Engineer Rabiu Suleiman Bichi and former Secretary to Kano State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, for federal board appointments.

A political battle has been ongoing in Kano between the Kwankwasiyya camp and the camp of Former Governor Ganduje, both seeking relevance in the administration of President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, which is almost two months old.

Currently, the Kwankwasiyya camp controls the Kano State Government under their party, the NNPP
