Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, has assumed his new role as Commissioner of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. On Monday, he officially began his duties, expressing his determination to enhance the local government service with the support of all stakeholders.

Amidst the presence of numerous well-wishers, family members, and associates, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of improving local government services for the betterment of the grassroots population. He promised to foster an open-door policy that encourages positive thinking and innovation.

The Ministry for Local Government oversees the activities of the 44 local government councils in the state, ensuring effective supervision, coordination, and monitoring. Comrade Aminu Abdussalam expressed his gratitude to Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf for appointing him to this crucial position and extended his hand in collaboration to achieve the desired objectives.

During the welcoming address, Alhaji Yusuf Datti Hussain, the permanent secretary of the Ministry, expressed his delight at having the deputy governor serve as a Commissioner and assured him of the necessary support and cooperation required to propel the ministry forward.
