The  executive leadership of  frontline umbrella bodies of Yoruba indigenes in Kano have disassociated themselves from the elections of the exco  of Yoruba Community Kano , YCK held last Saturday.

The  states  who strongly expressed their disassociation from the elections  held  at YCK House along Sanusi street, Sabon Gari,  includes  Lagos, Oyo, Ekitii and Osun.

The states in a statement that went viral on social media handles, Saturday night  argued that  the conduct of the  YCK elections failed to  comply with the provisions  of  the laws that regulates the functions of the body

Further stating  that the community comprises of eight states,  the conduct of YCK elections by  a small  number of  states they described as  minority Yoruba  states in  the absence of  other states falls short of YCK constitutional requirements.

The dissenting states alleged that the  purported exco elections is  a product of illegality and would not be allowed to stand saying “  Kangaroo Election.”

The statement said “THE ATTENTION OF  THE PUBLIC IS HEREBY DRAWN TO THE KANGAROO ELECTION HELD TODAY BY SOME   MINORITY MEMBERS OF YORUBA COMMUNITY KANO.

YORUBA COMMUNITY KANO MEMBERS COMPRISES OF EIGHT(8) SPEAKING YORUBA LANGUAGE STATES : OYO, OSUN, LAGOS, EKITI, OGUN,ONDO, KWARA AND KOGI STATE.

“WE THE MAJORITY OF  SOUTH WEST STATESS COMPRISING  OYO, OSUN, LAGOS & EKITI STATES DISASSOCIATE OUR SELVES FROM THE KANGAROO AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL ELECTION HELD TODAY.

“WE THEREFORE CALL ON THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO DISREGARD THE PRODUCT CALLED EXECUTIVES AS PROCLAIMED BY THE ELECTION. AS SUCH WE DECLARE THE ELECTION NULL & VOID BECAUSE ITS DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF YORUBA COMMUNITY CONSTITUTION GUIDELINES FOR A  FREE, FAIR DEMOCRATIIONS  ELECTION.
