<p>Alhaji Ahmad Tijjani Musa Jega, who doubles as the political spokesman for Senator Muhammad Adamu Alieru, said that for justice and fair play, the Northwest should be given the position of Senate President.</p>
<p>ATM Jega said that in light of the zoning of the most important legislative arm of government to the South-South by the APC national leadership, it would be unjust to overlook the Northwest, which comprises the bulk of the presidential votes, in clinching the Senate Presidency.</p>
<p>According to Jega, it was the votes of the Northwestern part of this country that led to the actualization of Tinubu&#8217;s presidency.</p>

<p>He noted that the position of the Speaker of the House of Representatives is not as important as the Senate Presidency, and the Northwest is not asking for more because the block votes it delivered to the APC during the February 25th election should not be taken lightly.</p>
<p>Only the Senate President can make or mar the decisions of the President, and in a situation where the Northwest geopolitical zone played an instrumental role in the emergence of President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, it would be unjust to deny the zone the Senate Presidency.</p>
<p>Jega pointed out that he is a member of the People&#8217;s Democratic Party, which is the second-largest party in the legislature. There is no chance for them to present a candidate. However, since I am concerned about the progress of the Northwest, I have to call for the zoning of the seat to my zone.</p>
<p>The politician added that Northern senators, irrespective of political parties, should rally behind Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as he is the only candidate from the zone contesting for the seat. He emphasized that the North would be making a grave mistake if it did not support Yari.</p>
<p>He said the position of the Vice President is a spare tire position and will no longer benefit the Northern part of this country. He urged Northerners and other patriotic Nigerians to ensure that the Northwest is not shortchanged in the APC Government led by Senator Bola Ahmad Tinubu.</p>
