Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has vowed to ensure a peaceful and seamless transition to the incoming government. The state’s Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Malam Muhammad Garba, made this announcement in a statement, assuring the public that the main transition committee and various sub-committees are working towards a smooth handover of power.
Garba dismissed claims by the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) that the outgoing administration is undermining the transition program. He emphasized that the outgoing government’s transition committee is gathering all relevant data and information, while the incoming government’s committee will receive the report at the appropriate time.
Garba stated that the committee’s aim was to prepare a handover from one government to another and not to promote any form of ideology. He urged the incoming government to work for a smooth transition process and avoid anything that could sabotage the process.
As the transition committee continues its work, the outgoing government expects that the issue of ideology and new programs to be initiated by the NNPP should wait for unveiling when the new government is inaugurated. The inclusion of representation from the incoming government was based on the need to ensure transparency and openness in the process, Garba added.
Overall, the Kano State government is committed to ensuring a seamless transition of power, and both the incoming and outgoing administrations are working together to make that happen
