Former Minister of Solid Minerals, Malam Musa Gwadabe, has passed away at the age of 86. His brother, Nasiru Gwadabe, confirmed the news in a statement released on Wednesday.

Alhaji Musa Gwadabe was a seasoned politician and a key figure in the formation of Nigeria’s fourth republic. He served as the Secretary to the Kano state government during the administration of Late Alhaji Sabo Bakin Zuwo from October to December 1983.

NIGERIAN TRACKER reports that in May 1999, following Nigeria’s return to civilian rule, he was appointed as the Federal Minister of Solid Minerals by former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. However, he was later transferred to the Ministry of Labour and Productivity before the expiration of Obasanjo’s first tenure on May 29, 2003.
