Suspected Gunmen Kidnapped Two University Students Of North Western Nigeria

Armed men suspected to be kidnappers have today   stormed the students  hostel of Federal University Gusau, located at Sabon-Gida, a community opposite the main campus of the university and succeeded in locking up security guards, and abducted two female students Maryam and Zainab of Microbiology department,  lodging in the hostel.

The two kidnapped victims were identified as Maryam an indigene of Bauchi state and Zainab who is also an indigene of Kaduna State.

 

Reacting to the ugly incident, the Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Police Command, CP Kolo Yusuf has confirmed  the abduction of two female students, and  reassured the general Public especially families and the management of Federal University Gusau that efforts are ongoing to rescue the two  students of the university.

The Commissioner who spoke through the commands spokesman SP Shehu Muhammed said students  were  abducted by yet to be identified hoodlums in the early hours of Sunday, and  Police Tactical Operatives have intensified search and rescue operations.

 

According to him, they received information early hours of today that, Armed bandits stormed sabon gida village in Bungudu LGA and broke into a rented female hostel of the university where they locked up the two (2) civilian  guards and dispossessed them of their handsets and later abducted two  female student of Microbiology Department of the university.

 

On receipt of the report, the Police Tactical team moved to the scene, but the hoodlums had already fled with the victims to an unknown destination.

 

The Commissioner of Police has further deployed reinforcement to complement the ongoing rescue operation to rescue the hostages hale and hearty, arrest the perpetrators and charge them to court for prosecution.

 

The Commissioner of Police therefore appeals for continuous support from members of the public to enable the Police to succeed in the rescue of the abducted students.
