<p>The house of representative member-elect Engineer Sagir Koki has disowned a Twitter handle spreading rumours that he has decamp the New Nigeria People&#8217;s Party (NNPP), describing it as fake account operated by mischief maker.</p>
<p>In a statement sent by Nazifi Bala Dukawa, a closed associate with member-elect said Engineer Sagir Koki neither own Twitter account nor did he post in the platform.</p>
<p>He urged the Leadership of the NNPP, Kano Governor-elect and the general public to disregard any rumours posted.</p>

<p>The statement read in full &#8220;My attention has been drawn to a fake Twitter account impersonating me and thereby spreading false information under my name. I wish to state categorically I have no any Twitter account and have not made any tweets on the platform.</p>
<p>&#8220;I am therefore alarmed at the recent development where some media outlets have attributed their stories to the said fake Twitter handle. I urge the media to be diligent in their reporting and verify their sources before publishing any story, especially in this era that fake news is rampant.</p>
