The chairman of Gombe state athletics Association (GAA) Alhaji Ahmad Shuaibu Gara Gombe has expressed readiness to work collectively with various stakeholders aimed at restoring the lost glory of the event in the state and northeast zone in general.
Gara stated this at a two day seminar on athletics technical officiating coaching held in the state capital.
Alhaji Ahmad Shuaibu Gara Gombe who doubles as the Special adviser to Gombe state governor on information strategies management said the aims of the seminar was part of his contribution to encourage the teeming youths to develop interest on Athletics in order to assist them to became self reliant through sports
He added that the seminar was also serve as an avenue to discover younger talented athletes for future state and national as well as international engagements.
Alhaji Ahmad Shuaibu Gara Gombe who was the former chairman of Gombe state football Association regretted the way and manner the athletics event found it self in the state and northeast at large, assuring to continue to do his best to restore the lost glory of the event.
The chairman explained that the northeast has produced athletes stars such as Abbas Muhammad, Kolo Muhammad among others, reiterated his readiness to work with relevant stakeholders in order to actualise the set objectives.

While commending the leadership of National Athletics Association of Technical Officials NAATO for their support and cooperation, he pledged to continue to work hand in hand with the outfit and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria AFN towards the overall development of the game in the state and the country in general.
The resources personnels who presented various topics include Dr
Alex Mana, Dr Achi Solomon, Kolo Muhammad, Mr Gama Yakubu James, Prince Simon Ayuba among others who lecture the participants ranging from track and field, long, middle distance race, competitions rules and regulations among others.
Highlights of the event include questions and answers as well as demonstrations and presentation of certificate to the participants at the occasion.
