Women inclusion in governance and politics is one of the major campaign promises of His Excellency, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed (Kauran Bauchi) of Bauchi state and is of crucial importance to development of the State and Nigeria at large.
It is an incontestable fact that in Bauchi State, many women have the capacity to play key roles in almost every facet of life be it political, social and even economic in the state building. Therefore, their roles should always be recognized and appreciated. Their outstanding performance in different fields and disciplines ushered their successes to have emerged as leaders, administrators, educator, politicians, academics and many more.
A distinguished noble icon among these great successful women is Dr. Hajiya Jamila Muhammad Dahiru who was recently appointed as Honourable Commissioner and member Bauchi State Executive Council. Her engagement in the state cabinet came without surprise as her distinct leadership style, vast knowledge and professional experience are most needed towards transforming the state. The triumph to her stardom came quickly as God Almighty destined her to serve the humanity.
How I Made It Into The Vernacular List At POLAC -Usman Bello Balarabe
Dr. Jamila who hailed from Rahama District of Toro Local Government Area in Bauchi state is a renowned Nigerian academic and lecturer who teaches Mass Communication in the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She is widely known for her ardent Social Advocacy and analysis and Mentoring. She is a knowledge Management and Behaviour Change Communication Consultant and eminently also, avid social researcher.
To fulfill part of his campaign promises and bridge gender gap in his government, Governor Bala Muhammed made a deep and bright insight. He entrusted the most deserved icon to partner with him to put hands on deck to make Bauchi State a better home for all.
By His infinite mercy, Almighty God treasured Hajiya Jamila to be loved by people as she is warm-hearted, open to everyone and indisputably emerged from decent family of Alhaji Muhammad Dahiru, an esteemed community leader and great title holder.
She acquired moral training through sound Islamic teaching at home, right from her childhood. It is because of this that a humble woman is moulded in her and blessed with leadership traits. This no doubt gives us a spotlight that there is a direct relationship between good leadership quality and proper upbringing. Thus, the good people of Bauchi state testified and endorsed her appointment.
In Bauchi state today, Governor Bala Mohammed has undeniably fulfilled his campaign promise of women inclusion in governance. Little wonder, in the state today, women are entrusted with seven ministerial positions. And with the present structure on ground, gender sensitivity is gradually manifesting.
It is against this background that we can confidently say the state is lucky to have such an embodiment of knowledge, character and dedication to serve as its Commissioner. And, wherever she is deployed to serve, she will give her everything to move the ministry and by extension, the state forward. May Allah be her guide.
