The newly promoted Assistant Commissioner of Police Daniel Amah on Monday again dignified with another ton of honour from Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who applauded his penchant for professionalism and uprightness.
Amah, a former divisional police officer (DPO) of Nassarawa station, Bompai division in Kano, was recently promoted from Chief Supreintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) after his celebrated criminal case.
The young police officer in April 2022, was said to have rejected offer of $200,000 to suppress a criminal investigation involved one Ali Zaki who allegedly arranged armed robbers to trail and rob a Bureau D’ Change operator of US$750. Amah was honour with National award for the exemplary act.
In a letter of commendation to Amah, Ganduje said the exemplary and impeccable pedigree of curtailing corruption as demostrated further testified that people of integrity are not far fetch in the force.
The letter signed by the Governor and presented to Amah by Kano state Commissioner of Police CP Mohammad Dauda, described the guesture ” a singular act of uprightness and rectitude that led to the eventual apprehension and prosecution of Ali Zaki and other criminal gang.

Dauda who was deployed newly to Kano however cautioned political actors to play by the rules of engagement as enshrined in the electoral act and the constitution. He insisted no stone would be left unturned to clam down on any individual or groups tempting to frustrate the peace of the land, before and during the election.
CP Dauda reminded that police would remained neutral in the political atmosphere assured level play ground for all parties irrespective of personalities. He said police would hold parley with the stakeholders how to mitigate violence during 2023 poll.
” Our strategy will be citizen led policing, community policing, trust and partnership between police and public to achieve peace and order. We would deepen our anti-crime fight. Visibility policing, and working closely with sister security agencies”. CP Dauda said.
