PRNIGERIA Interfaces With Media, Stakeholders On Humanitarian Situations In Kebbi, Niger States

PRNIGERIA on Wednesday interfaces with media organizations and other critical holders on the worrying humanitarian situations of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Niger and Kebbi states due to the unholy activities of terror bandit groups.

The medium during a press conference expressed concerns about the unhealthy situations of the IDPs in Kagara town,Niger State and Chonoko village in Kebbi state.

PRNIGERIA disclosed that after the investigations it carried out earlier this year concerning the plight of IDPs in Chonoko Village,
Danku/Wasagu Local Government Area in Kebbi state, as well as Kagara Town in Niger state during separate expeditions, there are incessant bandits’ attacks, where people were not allowed to have free access to their farms and work which serve as their major source of livelihoods, and that have greatly reduced the quantity of agricultural supplies, while also threatening food security and also increasing the unemployment rate in the process.

It also decried how the activities of the bandits have badly hit the educational sectors in these two affected places, where it said the majority of schools in the affected villages have been closed due to fear of bandits’ attacks, as some of schools have have also been turned to makeshift IDP camps for banditry victims.
