Seven family members have reportedly died at Danbaza village in Maradun local government area of Zamfara state as a result of eating mixed vegetables with corn.
The incident which occurred immediately after the family members took the mixed vegetables with corn popularly, known as (Dambu) prepared as their dinner.
The victims were two married women, three children and grandchildren of the family.
A source closed to the family members, Muhammad Kabir said as soon as the people finished the meal, four out the seven victims died instantly, while three were rushed to hospital but also died in the there and were taken back home for burial.
Condoling the families at Danbaza, the information Commissioner Ibrahim Dosara described the death of seven members of the family as tragedy and prayed Allah (SWT) to grant the deceased Aljannah Firdausi and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He also advised Peoples in the state to always be careful of what they eat and how they prepared their food before consumption.
Responding on behalf of the family, Malam Hassan Danbaza said he lost two of his wives, three children and two grandchildren in the incident.
