CITAD Awards COVID-19 Campaigners On Taming Fake News

The center for information technology and development has awarded three COVID 19 Campaigners on taming fake News about the vaccine on social media and other platforms.

 

The Head of the COVID 19 awareness desk of the center for information technology and development Hamza Ibrahim stated this while addressing newsmen during the award at the Headquarters of CITAD in Kano.

He said the youth who won the award through the use of social media handles have decimated the spread of fake news about the vaccine and showcasing its importance to the general public.

Hamza Ibrahim added that the first prize of refrigerator goes to Joseph Aturu from Kogi state who scored 91 points while the second second prize of plasma TV goes to Kwaplki Peter Uba from Borno state who scored 82 points and the third prize of medium-sized laptop goes to Hauwa Lawal Kabir from Plateau state who scored 73 points .

According to Hamza the winners were selected by panel of judges who assessed them based on the submission made and came up with the final result.

He added that CITAD kicked up the competition in the past three months and will continue to do so to depict the importance of COVID 19 vaccine to the general public and do away with fake news.
