<p>The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), has rewarded three students who emerged winners in the 5th round of the Report a Project competition in Kano.</p>
<p>The program, supported by MacArthur Foundation is aimed at encouraging students in tertiary institutions to contribute to their bid to eradicate the scourge of corruption in Nigeria for sustainable development.</p>

<p>At the end of the voting competition, Abdulmajid Imam from Bauchi state, who reported a 4 years of an abandoned road project that linked Itas-Gadau to Atafowa emerged winner and went home with a brand new laptop.</p>

<p>Maryam Saeed of Itas-Gadau, reported abandoned blocks of classrooms at Tafida Primary School Bauchi state to emerge second, earning her a brand new Huawei Smartphone, High Definition.</p>
<p>While Auwal Ibrahim, who reported an abandoned block of classrooms at the Government Junior Secondary School Gandun Albasa in Kano Kano state, received a prize of a smartphone as an encouragement to do more and contribute to the fight against corruption at the community level.</p>
<p>Speaking during the presentation of the prizes which was held at the Centre’s conference room in Kano, the Executive Director of the Centre, Engr. Y.Z Ya’u said encouraging the fight against corruption is part of the center’s commitment to reduce corruption to the barest minimum in Nigeria.</p>
<p>The Executive Director, represented by the Centre’s Communications and Campaigns Officer, Mal. Ali Sabo re-echoed the need for the fundamental importance of collective action against corruption which obstructs social and economic growth among others in the country.</p>
<p>He further urged the trio winners to maintain the status quo and report abandoned projects in their respective communities and beyond for the collective interest of the general public.</p>
<p>Speaking on behalf of the winners, Maryam Saeed said she feels honored to win this competition and encouraged to do more in holding government accountable especially in the area of completing abandoned projects. She promised to pursue the issue until the right thing is done.</p>
