Stranded Pilgrim’s Insistence To Perform Hajj In Kano Is A Sign Of Depression- Medical Expert

As over 754 pilgrims did not make it to Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Hajj one of the stranded pilgrims Jibrin Abdu from Gezawa local government in Kano vowed to perform his Hajj at Kano Hajj camp since the authorities refused to fly him to Saudi Arabia.

But in an exclusive interview with Kano based medical expert Dr. Khalid Sunusi Kani said the insistence by the stranded intending pilgrim is a sign of depression.

Psychosis, hallucination is part of the ailment the stranded pilgrim started to develop and if care is not taken he will develop mental illness .

Accord to Dr. Khalid the government should carry out mental examination on all the over 900 stranded pligrims so that they can be tamed from developing other forms of ailment which is devastating to their body.

He said the pligrims can also develop, conversion disorder which may lead to blindness, Manifestation of depression is lack of interest in previous pleasurable enjoyment.
