Kano Assembly approves Ganduje’s N10 bn loan request

Kano State House of Assembly on Wednesday approved Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje’s request to access a loan facility of N10 billion from Access Bank to improve security in the state.

The approval followed a letter of request from the governor to the Assembly which was read by the Speaker, Hamisu Chidari during plenary on Wednesday.

According to the letter, the loan will be used to procure Close Circuit Television CCTV and other gadgets in order to further strengthen security in the State.

Speaking in favour of the loan, the Leader of the House, Labaran Madari, (APC-Warawa) noted that the loan has a single-digit interest rate with a repayment period of 10 years.

 

He said that the facility would also be use to build control room to gather information and intelligence.

Madari added the gadgets would be installed in all the headquarters of the five Emirates in the state.

The leader further said that equipment would enhance the capacity of security agencies to mitigate crime in the state and ensure security of lives and property of well-meaning citizens.
