Professional Journalist have been urged to maintained the standard code of ethics that the profession guides in the operation of their duty.
Veteran Journalist and consultant for Stallion Times Media Project tagged “Get involved, dialogue and improve (G-DRIP), Malam Adamu Salisu Ladan stated this is shortly after a one day training to Journalist from various Media Organizations, supported by Wole Soyinka Center for Investigative Journalism and Mark Arthur Foundation, in Kano.
He said observing the codes will help those in practice to shun anything that is not needed and focus on the core mandate of Journalism in the society.
Salisu Ladan added that the modern trend of Journalism should not be neglected, but however embrace it to the uptimum utilization.

“The trend of New Media or Digital Media give Journalism a new dimension, in the sense that only those with the knowledge and even those that are not Journalist by profession are yielding the fruit.
“If you don’t want to be left behind, you must take advantage of it, bearing in mind the codes guides your operation”, Adamu Salisu Ladan.
Stating the motives behind organising the training, the Editor In-chief Stallion Times Media Service, Malam Isyaku Ahmad, said their target is to build capacity of Journalist on investigative reporting, ethics, safety, media literacy and sustainability.
He then said inculcating the habit of professional standard is the key to any successful Journalist which must be given attention.
He added that taking into consideration the fundamentals which includes Editorial Independence, Accuracy and Fairness.
Stallion Times Media appealed to the Journalist that attended the workshop to desist from non professionalism that often gives Journalism a bad name in sometimes.
Speaking earlier, Chairman Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) Kano State Branch, Comrade Abbas Ibrahim, promised to continue with the good work of enforcing conduct, as well as ensure that necessary training and the positive attitudes are properly introduce to maintain sanity in the professional practice.
