Kano state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has directed the Head of Civil Service, Usman Bala to oversee the Office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor with immediate effect.
A statement issued by the commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, indicated that the supervision would be pending the appointment of a substantive Chief of Staff.
The governor, the statement added, expressed the hope for effective supervision and coordination by the Head of Service, having served in the office before.
As mass defection affects the ruling party in Kano Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s Chief of staff Goni Ali Haruna Makoda resigned and defect to Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s NNPP.
The Head of service Usman Bala was appointed principal private secretary to governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on May 29 2015 but was sacked a year later on May 29 2016.
