Kano First Lady’s Anointed Governorship Aspirant Resigns As Commissioner

One of the leading Kano State governorship aspirants under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Murtala Sule Garo, has tendered his resignation letter to the governor of the State, Abdullahi Ganduje.

Garo, was until his resignation, served as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs in the state.

PlatinumPost reports that Ganduje had on Saturday issued a forty-eight-hour ultimatum to all political appointees seeking elective positions to resign.

In the resignation letter sighted by PlatinumPost, Garo stated that it has been a rewarding experience working under the guidance and supervision of Ganduje since 2014.

” I write with a deep sense of humility and gratitude to tender my resignation as Honourable Commissioner in charge of Kano State Ministry Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs.”

Continuing: ” Your Excellency Sir, it has been an immensely rewarding experience working directly under your guidance and supervision from  2014 when I was elected as Local Government Chairman and your subsequent decision to appoint me as Commissioner in your administration. These years have afforded me the rare privilege to tap from your Excellency’s administrative acumen and political sagacity.

“There is no doubt that the present administration, under your able leadership, has impacted positively the lives of the good people of Kano State and I’m proud to be part of the giant stride of your administration in the last seven years. While thanking your Excellency for affording me the rare privilege serve, please accept the assurances of my loyalty now and always.”

Last year Kano first lady Prof Hafsa Ganduje made some commendable remarks on Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo which is seen as an anointment to succeed her husband at Kano Government House in 2023.

But later the state commissioner for information Malam Muhammad Garba denied that the Governor’s wife endorsed Murtala Sule Garo for governor.
