As the 2023 General elections draws nearer the Independent National electoral commission have increased the states polling units to eleven thousand , two hundred and twenty two polling Units.
The state’s resident electoral commissioner Professor Riskwa Arabi Shehu stated this during meeting with political parties at Kano state Headquarters of the Independent National electoral commission.
Professor Riskwa said Kano state had eight thousand and seventy four polling units and three thousand one hundred and forty eight voting points across the 44 local governments and with the conversion of voting points to polling units ,the state now has a total of eleven thousand two hundred and twenty two polling units.

The Kano resident electoral commissioner said political parties have to prepare and with the signing of the electoral by President Muhammad Buhari conduct of party primaries including resolution of disputes arising from them commences from Monday 4th April to Friday 3rd June 2022.
Prof. Riskwa added that as at now there is a ban on political campaigns and party supporters have to take not if that by cautioning there supporters on the implications of campaigning for their candidates at the moment.
The Kano INEC boss also appealed to media houses within the state to desist from providing platforms to some supporters of politicians who use their air times and space by overheating the polity.
