I Will Start Fighting Corruption From The Presidential Villa If I Become President-Moghalu

A presidential aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Professor Kinsley Moghalu says when he becomes President in the year 2023 he will start fighting corruption from the Presidential Villa.

Kingsley Moghalu made the statement while addressing newsmen in Kano on Sunday evening.

Moghalu said from 2015 to date Nigeria is drifting and the negatives are rising due to leadership failure .

He said nothing is working where the economy of Nigeria is moving towards that of Venezuela and Zimbabwe.

According to the economist and former Deputy Governor of Nigerias apex Bank Moghalu said he will make sure that those that sorrounded him and are working with him are not corrupt so that the menace of corruption will not trickle down to the lower stratum of Nigerias national life.

He noted that Nigerians have to wake up and change the narrative by electing competent people into the position of power noting that Nigeria’s presidency is a job not political promotion ,adding that the next Nigerias President must be competent to lead the nation not politicians sharing positions of power among themselves.

Moghalu said he will work with people of ideas and competent especially in the key sectors of the economy.

He pointed out that who ever perpetrated any evil act against the Nigerian state will be punished so that it will serve as deterrent to others.

“If terrorists kill one Nigerian they must account for it no matter how close we are”

On the Education sector the don promises to also make sure that he granted autonomy to Nigerian universities so that they will work properly noting that the mushroom private universities springing in many parts of the country will not do anything good to the education sector.

He said Nigerian Universities are suppose to be autonomous like their counterparts of the world where he asserts that Universities are not civil service where they can be twisted at will but research centres and hubs of knowledge production.

Prof Moghalu promises to end ASUU strike when he is elected President ,he also blamed the electorate for not electing people of ideas and competent to solve the nations critical problems.

 

The Presidential aspirant after attending the reception of Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil into the ADC he also visited the family of Hanifa Abubakar who was murdered by her school proprietor.
