The registrar of the joint admissions and matriculation board Professor Ishaq Oloyode said the march 26 closure of UTME Registration stands.

Professor Oloyode made the statement while addressing journalists at Kano Zonal office of the Joint Admissions and matriculation board on Friday.

The JAMB boss said the board will not succumb to any pressure to extend the UTME registration because the board has fulfilled all the requirement for smooth registration by prospective candidates.

According to him he is in Kano to assess the level of registration where he said there is no crowd at the centres noting that the registration is going on smoothly but the board is worried that towards the end of the exercise people will be clamouring for extension noting that they will not extend the registration.

Professor Ishaq added that before it was the problem of National Identification number and its currently no longer the problem where he called for the sensitization of candidates.

The registrar added that so far they have registered 1.4 million candidates across the country.

Professor Oloyede also frowned at the level of work going on at the Kano Zonal office JAMB where there is no appreciable progress on the side of the contractor.

He added that since his coming to office JAMB has remitted over 20 billion to the federal government despite not being a revenue generating agency as claimed by some individuals.
