NUGA 2022: Chartered Institute of Banker of Nigeria donate Sports equipments worth N.3million to BUK

Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria Kano branch has donated sports equipments valued at N.3 million to the sports directorate of Bayero University Kano, BUK.

Presenting the equipments to the management of the ivory tower, the chairman of the state chapter of the institute of bankers, Aliyu Wada Nas last Friday at the senate building of the university, commended the school authority for installing what

Wada described the standard of the sports facilities within the school community as fantastic.

He said that the sports donation made to the school is their widows mite, which is given with the aim to further inspiring the management of the school not to relent in its oars in the support and encouragement sports has enjoyed over time, from the school administrators .

Nas added that the ceaseless chain of achievement recorded by the institution in the area of sports development has caught the attention of the state chapter of the body.

Adding that they were in the school to foster a relationship that is anticipated would impact on the growth of human development.

He said, therefore the organization reached the decision to further strengthen the successes so far attained through the university’s sports directorate.

In his words “we want to commend your achievements, your sports facilities are tremendous.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, BUK, professor Mohammed Sani Gumel who received the sports items, on behalf of the school management thanked the umbrella body of bankers in the state for its magnanimity .

He said “ there are other universities in Kano, we appreciate the choice to support us , our mandate is teaching and research, so, community development is part of our mandate.

“we are mandated to do anything that will be impactful, BUK is growing in phases, thank you for choosing us.

“sports supports learning and the university will always welcome any partnership that will support learning, we thank you.” Professor Gumel said.

Our correspondent reports that Bayero University Kano , BUK will feature among other universities that would be jostling for laurels at the 2022 edition of the Nigeria University Games, NUGA slated to flag off at the University of Lagos, UNILAG sports village, later this week.
