<p>The state Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Murtala Sule Garo, was seen mobilising the lawmakers to actualise the impeachment.</p>
<p>Majority leader of the House, Labaran Abdul Madari, of Warawa Constituency, Chief Whip, former Majority Leader and former Speaker, Abdulaziz Gafasa, are also heavily involved in the impeachment plot on the directives of Garo.</p>
<p>The impeachment plot came up after the Kano South All Progressives Congress mega rally that took place in Rano.</p>

<p>Both Cidari and his Deputy were loyalists of Kabiru Rurum when he was Speaker.</p>
<p>Garo is one of the most powerful and closest allies of the governor. He is seen by many as the anointed candidate for the governorship seat because of the full support he enjoys from the First Lady, Hafsat Ganduje.</p>
<p>Senator Barau Jibrin was recently seen as the strongest opposition to Garo but with the emergence of Rurum, who is from the governors camp. That gives him strength unlike Barau who belongs to the G7 faction of the APC in the state.</p>
<p>Rurum, a member of the House of Representatives from Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure Federal Constituency is enjoying a massive support from members of the state assembly in his governorship bid.</p>
<p>Some stakeholders from Kano South have recently endorsed Rurum for Kano State Governor, Ado Doguwa, for Speaker of the House of Representatives and Kawu Sumaila for Senator. They are all from the Kano South Senatorial District.</p>
<p>There have been agitations by people from the zone to take over power from Ganduje.</p>
<p>According to the stakeholders, the zone has yet to produce a governor or Deputy since 1993, hence their endorsement of Rurum.</p>
