Kano LG suspends N500m road project to avoid duplication

The management of Kumbotso local government area of Kano state has yesterday revealed that, the council has suspended the proposed five kilometer Sheka Karshen Kwalta Wailari road that was initially approved by Kano state government at the cost N500 million and to be executed by the council.

The suspension of the road project was contained in a statement issued by the local government council and signed by the council’s Director Personnel Management Umma Abbas Sanusi. According to the statement, the suspension became necessary to avoid duplication as member national House of Representatives representing Kumbotso Federal constituency Munir Dan Agundi has commenced preparation to execute the project.

Alleged Forgery: Court Dismisses Muhuyi’s Application

It explained that the house member had already mobilized machinery to execute the Kano state government approved road construction. The statement added that the council has however decided to shift the approved project to another location within the local government.

It further solicited for the understanding and cooperation of its people as the suspension wasn’t deliberate but necessary.
