In the Second Republic, figures such as the first Executive President of the country, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, ably assisted by figures such as Alhaji Maitama Sule, Alhaji Adamu Chiroma, Liman Ciroma, Adamu Fika and the likes while President Muhammadu Buhari leads the charge in contemporary era with call for a paradigm considering the fact that Buhari has passed his prime due to old age.

The search for a new leader in the north should not take so long as a gentleman seems to have etched his appealing charm and personae into the subconscious of the people people of the region based on his exemplary lifestyle and quality leadership he has rendered to the people in and out of government thus making him the darling of Northerners who follow him in droves.

Owing to his remarkable leadership and near perfect public posturing, Kwankwaso remains the only personality in the region most eminently qualified to fit the bid considering his people oriented and impactful approach to governance whenever fortunes lands him opportunity to lead the people in occasions such as when he held sway as governor of Kano State, his foray into the Federal Executive as Minister of Defence as his election into the Senate.

In all these opportunities he provided the needed leadership just as his record of public service remains till today unblemished with no record of arrest and prosecution by the various anti-graft agencies for corrupt practices.

Out of power, it is to Kwakwanso’s credit that he has spent his personal fortunes on helping the needy in the society acquire the right education and skills that would stand them in good stead to not only fend for themselves but also contribute meaningfully and impactfully to the development and growth of the society as important components.

Politically, Kwankwaso is in firm control of Northwest, Northeast states and some parts of North central, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger. There is no single individual politician that commands followers in the entire north like Sen. Kwankwaso aside Pres. Buhari that will be retiring next year.
