Reconciliation: APC National Headquarters Appoints Governor Ganduje Party Leader In Kano

The All Progressive Congress on Monday released guidelines for the harmonization of the party structure in Kano State as a measure to address the crisis bedeviling the party in the State.

The party has been factionalized in Kano with Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje leading a group and Senator Ibrahim Shekarau heading the other group.

The APC headquarters led by its Caretaker Chairman, Mai Mala Buni on Saturday had another meeting with the two groups after two previous meeting announcing that a frame work for the reconciliation and sharing formula would be released on Monday.

in a statement jointly signed by the members of the G7 on Sunday, insisted that though they are ready for reconciliation but with conditions of just, fairness and equitable sharing formula.

In the letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the National Chairman, Abdullahi Y. Gashua, dated 7th February, 2022, the party directed that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje as leader of the party in the state , head the State supervisory committee and be assisted by Senator Ibrahim Shekarau.

Shekarau’s APC Faction Rejects Buni’s Guidelines For Harmonization Of Party Structure In Kano

The party said a bottom top Caucus be constituted at each local government area with 9 members. They include-

A. Serving Senator, if he is from the Local Government

B. Serving Member, House of Representatives, if he is from the Local Government

C. Serving Member, State House of Assembly, if he is from the Local Government

D.  Serving Council Chairman and his Deputy

E. Hon. Commissioner from the Local Government

f) Special Advisers from the Local Government

g) Member of CECPC from the Local Government

i) Hon. Minister from the Local Government

j) One woman to be nominated by His Excellency in due consultation with Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau

According to the term of reference of the Caucus, each local government Caucus will meet and come up with a proposed structure for all wards and local governments.

It similarly said the National and State Joint Supervisory Committee has the following members-

Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, Bello Muhammad Matawalle, Yakubu Dogara, Senator Abba Ali and Secretariat.

The framework said , the committee is expected to sit in Kano and complete within 7 days and submit its report.
