Governor of the Central Bank Mr Godwin Emefeile has inaugurated Gerawa Rice Mill In Kano located in Gunduwawa area.

Inaugrating the rice Mill in the governor of the Central Bank Mr.Godwin Emefeile said when President Muhammad Buhari sow the seed of Agricultural revolution in November 2015 by launching rice farming in Kebbi State, the Nigerian rural dwellers become self employed and the Nigerian rice flood the market.

According to Emefeile with the coming of President Muhammad Buhari more Nigerias owned rice and oil mills.

He also congratulated Alhaji Isa Gerawa for constructing one of the largest rice mills across Nigeria.

 

In his speech Governor of Kano state Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said he is confident the rice mill will provide employment and skill acquisition to large number of people noting that President Muhammad Buhari has made serious investment in Agriculture .

In his speech Governor of Jigawa state Alhaji Badaru Abubakar said the rice value chain deals with operators,party dealers,rice millers and Gerawa Rice mill is large .

He also commended President Muhammad Buhari for been instrumental to the growth of Nigerias annual GDP from 950 billion to over 2.3 trillion due to rice farming which resulted in a number of rice mills throughout Nigeria.

 

 

On his part the chairman and chief executive officer of Gerawa Rice Mill Alhaji Isa Gerawa commended the CBN governor for his doggedness in making sure rice millers get CBN’s support in which he is a beneficiary noting that President Muhammad Buhari renewed the CBN governors tenure due to the trust in which he discharge his responsibilities.

Isa Gerawa added that during the 2020 lockdown if Nigerians did not go back to the farm Nigeria may fell into serious food crisis.

According to Isa Gerawa he started oil mills company 23 years ago with him and only a watchman and now it has transformed into a largest oil mill and now a rice mill.

Isa Gerawa further thanked dignitaries including the CBN governor and the governors of Kano,Jigawa and Kebbi states.
