Bandits Kills 82 year Old District Head

Bandits have again killed an 82 years old  District head of Gada Alhaji Umar Bawan Allah of Bungudu local government area in Zamfara state and four others, burnt his palace in the State.

The bandits have also abducted many people that included women and children in the area.

It was gathered that the late District head was a father of over 30 Children and many grandchildren.

The armed bandits have also set many houses on fire including the District head’s palace and vehicles.

An indigine of the town, Makau Mohammed said, “The bandits came to the town in large number and blocked all the roads leading to the town and started shooting sporadically”.

Accordingto him, some of the bandits went into the town, while other bandits stood by the roadsides to ensure that nobody escaped in the village.

“The spent several hours in the town, where they searched many houses, took away several items including foodstuffs and money and abducted many people in the town “.

“Our District head was killed by the bandits,He (the District head) was shot dead by the bandits because he resisted the attempt to abduct him”.

He said the bandits later set his palace on fire where several items including his two vehicles were burnt to ashes”.

Addresing newsmen  on Wednesday evening at the the state police Command headquarters in Gusau, the commissioner of police CP Ayuba Elkana Said police has already deployed  Tactical team to the affected town, who were currently on the trail of the fleeing bandits.

The CP said a police tactical team has rescued 9 kidnapped victims added security operatives are working to ensure the rescue of other victims.

“Nine kidnapped victims were rescued by the tactical team while effort was ongoing to apprehend the assailants and rescue other victims”.
